I am very happy with it though cogs for the discharge of pulp could be done with a more durable material and be stronger because I can't do juice from rhubarb :)) but Fortunately I do not have to as I really do not like it :))
Positives: -Easy to clean. -Looks nice. -Takes up very less space on kitchen counter than traditional masticating juicer. Negatives: -I like some pulp in my juice but the Hurom leaves WAY too much pulp in the juice. When I use the included juicing screen the pulp quickly clogs it up. When I don't use it there is enough much pulp in the bottom of my pint glass to make me gag. -It seizes up randomly. I mostly juice root veg, apples, broccoli, and a little celery. None of these should be a problem for a good juicer, but I have found that no matter how small I chop them the juicer will sooner or latter clog up and seize. A handy reverse button is included which does unclog the juicer, but it quickly clogs again after using it. Then the juicer just completely stops (I presume this is some kind of over-heat cutout switch) and will not work for half an hour. I have tried everything, but this keeps happening. -Frothy juice. One of the main attractions of a masticating juicer is that it reduces the amount of oxygen exposure to the juice, thereby reducing oxidisation etc. Frothy juice means oxygenated juice. -Warm juice. Don't ask my why, but when I put cold veg from my fridge through the Hurom the juice comes out a few degrees warmer on the other side. Another advantage of a masticating juicer is that the juice is not heated as it would be in higher RPM juicers, thereby preserving the enzymes which are destroyed by heat. This juicer heats the juice. In conclusion, I wish I had not bought the Hurom HU 700, and, based on my experience, I would not recommend it to anyone shopping for a good juicer.
Bought Hurom as an alternative to centrifugal juicer... What I like is that there is no need to push fruit pieces, they just go in and the juice is our. so easy to wash, as well. And the possibility to make milk is just the plus.
I have been using the Hurom 700 juicer for two weeks now. I am absolutely happy with the product. It is very easy to clean as well. Delivery was quick enough. I would highly recommend this juicer and the cheapest way to get it is through this website.
Bought this juicer in Feb 2014. This has been one of the best decision lately - we've been juicing almost every day. Easy to assemble,quiet and really easy to clean. I recommend this juicer to all my friends.
I previously used a Breville JE2 and updated as it was getting old. I have had the juicer for two weeks and juiced every day. I am juicing leafy greens, carrots, apples, cucumbers, citrus, beets all at the one time. I chop things up into 6mm thick slices. It works very well. The benefits of it over my previous juicer is the ability to juice spinach, kale etc. And the lack of any noise when doing it. The order process and delivery was excellent. I was informed at all stages and it was delivered promptly. The price was the best i could find on the internet. A Five star internet retailer.
I have been using this juicer for two weeks now and we have no cause to regret. It's still a miracle how perfect it works producing best quality juices. Traditional slow speed horizontal masticating juicers have a much smaller surface area on the juicing strainer which somewhat restricts the juice extraction process. Hurom changed that by inventing the vertical juicer and moving the juicing mechanism to the top of the juice extractor and using a strainer with a larger surface area which results in the juice passing through much quicker after it has been juiced. While still operating at 70-80 RPM’s like traditional horizontal masticating juicer Hurom juicers can produce a litre of juice in about half the time it takes in traditional horizontal machines.
In the past customers who have been frustrated by the slow speed of horizontal masticating juicers have opted for centrifugal juicers however high speed juicers oxidise the juice quickly resulting in poorer nutritional value, very little enzymes and no storage value, however with the new Hurom juicer HU-700, you get the benefit of much faster processing times with juice that can be stored for 48 hours with minimal loss of nutrients.
Another benefit to having the juicing mechanism at the top of the juicer means the produce you feed in pretty much self-feeds as the squeezing screw draws the produce in, eliminating the need to use the food pusher with anything but leafy greens. The squeezing screw and juice strainer are made from GE-Ultem material which is food safe, BPA Free and eight times stronger than the normal material used on juicers – we rarely if ever see any breakage in Hurom juicer parts!
The unique silicone wiper-blade system rotates in between the juice bowl and juicing strainer effectively cleaning the inside of excess pulp and prevent the juicer from blocking up during use, this part has been improved in the new HU 600 and HU 700 to prevent less pulp entering the juice and less cleaning
The addition of a silicone non drip juice valve and cap on the juice outlet offers several advantages over previous models without this feature. As well as eliminating drips onto the work surface, this allows the juice bowl to be filled with water at the end of a juicing session so that the silicone wiper blades can do more of the cleaning and you do less! The new larger 500ml juice bowl also has a measurement scale that allows juice to be accurately gauged and then you simply open the valve to dispense the juice.
Dr Max Gerson (of the world famous Gerson Institute - http://www.gerson.org) recommend that pulp and juice should be mixed before pressing thereby effectively capturing more nutrients from the pulp. Using the new non drip juice valve or cap the pulp and juice are in contact with each other for longer allowing the juice has a greater opportunity to flush 'sticky' nutrients from the cell membranes and fibres (pulp) of the fruit and vegetables being cold-pressed. With the Hurom HU 600 and HU 700 models the juice valve means you can have up to a half litre of juice that is potentially rinsing extra nutrients from the pulp as it is being ground up by the BPA free GE Ultem auger, or juicing screw. This mixing feature as the wiper blades stir the juice means with mixed ingredients your juice cocktail is already perfectly blended when you dispense it through the non-drip juice valve, with less foam or froth. This method has normally only been associated with high-priced twin gear juicers like the Greenstar or Angel juicers and the Norwalk press.
Tests from the Michelson Laboratories Inc. and the Korean Food Research Institute confirm that this juicer extracts: 42.7% more Vitamin C, 60.7% more Vitamin A when compared to traditional juicers. This research was certified by the FDA and the USDA.
For most of us cleaning our juicer is the least favourite part of the process, fortunately the Hurom HU 700 and HU 600 are a doddle to clean! Simply pour water through the machine whilst it is running as normal and close the juice cap. The water will flush out the remaining pulp and juice. There are two cleaning brushes provided with the Hurom juicer HU-700 model and one of the brushes has a handy detachable smaller brush to get at hard to reach areas.
The Hurom HU 700 Red Burgundy is excellent at juicing harder vegetables and fruits and performs much better on softer produce like berries, pineapple and oranges compared to horizontal juicers. If you plan on juicing mainly leafy greens such as wheatgrass, spinach, kale and chard then a horizontal juicer such as the Samson or Omega would be a better choice, however if you are looking for am good all rounder then its hard to beat the Hurom HU 700 or HU 600.
Whilst the vertical juicers are capable of juicing fruits, soft fruits, vegetables, leafy greens and wheatgrass - we consider them to be more of an all-round juice extractor. They perform much better with softer produce like berries, pineapple and oranges which the horizontal machines generally struggle with but if you mainly want to juice wheatgrass and leafy greens - then the horizontal masticating juicers do give better results. So if you are looking for a juicer to do a bit of everything very well, then you can't go wrong with a Hurom slow juicer.
