Great product, I have compared horizontal with vertical ones and Huron fits best into my existing space. On top the juicing quality is excellent and it makes a lot of fun creating new juice composites. I was not aware that it can be used a noodle maker as well. The delivery from Ireland to Germany was fantastic as well. Order placed and two days later I could start the juicing challenge. Perfect choice with a good price/value ratio.
Bought this recently, easy to clean, take apart, put together again. It is compact for small spaces. I'm happy with it.
The Hurom DU horizontal slow juicer has a very minimalistic design, which allows it to sit on your countertop without being too intrusive. Compared to other juicers of this style, the DU has an improved end cap that helps the rate of pulp ejection, thus making the whole juicing experience more manageable. If you're looking for a juicer that has excellent performance as well as other functions such as creating pasta, salsa, sorbets, nut butter, soups and dips, then the Hurom DU is definitely a juicer you should be considering.
The advantage of such a small and compact juicer is that it's easy to move around your kitchen. Weighing only 4.7kg, you will be able to move this juicer without any struggle at all, but it’s also very sturdy on a work surface. As the Hurom DU is only 16cm in depth, it will sit comfortably in small kitchens without looking out of place. You also have the added bonus of a fantastic design that's clean and modern.
The most obvious part of this juicer is the end cap, this has been designed to control the rate of pulp ejection and make juicing more manageable. This is all done by a stainless steel cover and cutting blade, placed within the end cap.
Beyond its unique end cap design, it also has great juicing performance as well as homogenising functions. The augur turns at a slow 64 RPM, which allows the fruit and vegetables to be broken down properly, making sure all nutrients and enzymes are preserved. A slow RPM will also allow the augur plenty of time to press ingredients against the screen to gain optimal yields.
Just like the Hurom GH Chef, the Hurom DU has a built-in grill also known as a drip tray, that sits below the juicing container. Once you have finished juicing and taken the juicing container away, the tray will catch any unwanted drips and prevent your work surface from getting sticky.
Like all Hurom parts, the DU has BPA free parts, this basically means no nasty chemicals will leach into your juice and you can have confidence that you are only ingesting vitamins and minerals. As well as safe materials, Hurom has used durable materials that will last. The augur is made up of GE Ultem, which is 8 times stronger than the standard plastics you would find in other juicers.
1 homogenising blank and 4 nozzles are provided when you purchase the DU, allowing you to create much more than just juice. The first of these nozzles has one large single hole for general homogenising functions such as creating sorbets, nut butter, baby food, salsa, soups and dips. The other 3 homogenising nozzles allow you to create different types of noodles, making the Hurom DU much more than just a juicer.
