The Status 0.5-Litre glass vacuum container is the ideal way to store various foods ranging from fresh fruits and berries to sauces, leftovers or tasty treats. With a container bowl made of hard-wearing borosilicate glass, this container has been built to last and it benefits from being fully dishwasher, freezer and oven-safe for easy cleaning and lots of flexibility.
To use the vacuum function of this container, a vacuum pump will need to be purchased alongside it. Please bear in mind that you will only need one pump for multiple containers.
Through the use of either a manual or electric Status pump, this container can hold an airtight vacuum. Storing foods in a vacuum environment is an ideal way to preserve them for longer, and Status’ testing has shown that their containers allow for foodstuffs to last up to 4 times longer before going off.
This increased freshness occurs as a result of oxygen being removed from the interior of the container. By removing oxygen, the conditions needed for bacteria growth are severely limited, heavily reducing the rate at which they can spoil foods, even notoriously dangerous ones such as fresh meat or fish.
For some added convenience, this container features a calendar storage date indicator. This date indicator helps to keep track of how long food inside the container has been stored or its use-by date. This is especially useful in family homes to ensure everyone knows when certain foods need to be eaten.
To ensure it can handle plenty of use, Status has manufactured the container bowl from borosilicate glass. Naturally, glass offers a superior level of durability over even the best of plastics and benefits from fantastic heat and scratch resistance. It is also nigh impossible to permanently discolour and will never absorb odour given off by food stored within it.
Of course, despite its numerous functions, this container’s primary job is storage. Therefore, Status has designed it with practicality in mind. As a result, it is safe for use in a freezer and can be cleaned in a dishwasher. It is also fully microwave and oven-safe without its lid and can handle temperatures between -20°C and 300°C.
This container has also been designed to be stacked on top of other Status glass containers and, thanks to the raised valve ring, other similarly sized flat containers can easily stack on top of it.
