Choosing a Juicer

At first you may be completely surprised with the wide range of juicers on the market, many from specialist juicer brands you may not have heard off before. Fortunately most juicers fail into the following categories -

Masticating Juicers – cold press juicers designed to extract the maximum amount of juice and nutrients from fruits, vegetables and greens without damaging nutrients and enzymes, these juicers are particularly good at juicing leafy greens including wheatgrass but take marginally longer to make a juice compared to high speed centrifugal juicers.  Masticating juicers tend to be very robust and come with 10 year plus warranties. Leading brands here include Samson, Hurom, Omega, Greenstar, Angel, Champion and Oscar.  Juicers.ie recommends masticating juicers as the best all round juicers for juicing a mix of fruits, vegetables and leafy green use.  Please see our range of Masticating juicers here -

Centrifugal Juicer – high speed juicers where the key focus is on convenience and speed. These juicers can make a juice very quickly and can often take whole pieces of fruits and vegetables without the need to chop and are an excellent choice for those with a busy lifestyle. With centrifugal juicers there tends to be more wastage and they don’t juice leafy greens very well, also some research suggests the juice is less nutrient rich due to the high centrifugal force of the motor and juicing process, nonetheless they are an excellent choice for those with a focus on convenience. Leading brands here include Sage, L’Equip, Magimix and Philips. Please see our range of Centrifugal juicers here -

Citrus Juicers – Citrus juicers are the best choice for juicing citrus fruits, oranges, pomegranate and pineapple. Please see our range of Citrus juicers here -

Juice Presses – Often used in conjunction with a masticating juicer to extract the maximum juice yield. Please see our range of Juice Presses here -
