Very pleased with this dehydrator. Only took 3 days to ship to Spain from the UK, arrived all okay. I made the right choice paying a bit more for the digital display, you can be much more precise with temps and times, and the two stage timer is really good, starting with a higher temp and then dropping, speeding up the dehydration process overall. 9 trays allows loads of food to be dried at the same time, more energy efficient. Right now I've got 7 trays of mulberries, 1 tray of sour black cherries and a tray of cherry and rhubarb leather set at 135F for 12 hours. It'll go all night, and I'll wake up in the morning with loads of food perfectly preserved - it's that simple. You can't buy food this good! It's a bit noisy though, kind of like a microwave, so I put it in a room far away from my bedroom so I don't hear it at night.
Highly recommended. I suppose the true test will be if it's still going strong in a year from now.

Just starting out to dehydrate my food and having fun with making crackers and chips so I cannot say anything negative yet. This really fits into my healthy lifestyle. I love this machine, although made with some plastic, it is very solid. Glad I went for the 9 trays, digital version. Big thank you to "Juicers.ie" for answering my questions and smooth delivery. Also the book from Excalibur "preserve it naturally" that comes with it is excellent.

We at Energiseyourlife have been waiting a long time for Excalibur to bring a long-awaited digital version of its popular dehydrator. The new 2 stage patented drying process will allow users, even more, control over their food. You can set the temperature higher for the start of the drying process and then lower the temperature for the rest cycle to ensure that you get a great quality and highly nutritious end product. This whole process can be programmed in so that you can set the dehydrator depending on what you are drying from the start knowing that each and every time you get fantastic results.
Building on the ever-popular Excalibur analogue dehydrator and using the same Parallax drying system which means that the heat source comes from the back and is distributed from the fan in an even manner meaning that you get great results which will be the same from the bottom to the top. This nine tray version ensures it is plenty big enough for the whole family as well as raw food enthusiasts and gardeners alike. The range of tempreatures you can achieve from this dehydrator is 35 degrees which is the optimum temperature of enzymes and ensuring that the vitamins and minerals are retained and of course for those of you who want to dehydrate meats and fish you can go up to 74 degrees. This is the optimal temperature for jerky or even pet foods.
The two-stage drying process allows a quick instal dry off your produce and then a lower temperature with a longer drying period for stage two means that you do get the best results. Excalibur has been exploring this idea for some time, and with this latest product, we do believe that they have taken their dehydrators to another level.
All Excalibur dehydrators are BPA free, and this one is no exception, it has a great build quality and is very easy to clean and maintain.
