The Bio Chef Juicer is an excellent value entry level vertical style masticating juicer. This superb value juicer surprised us all in here the office with its remarkable performance and is certainly on par with the premium Hurom juicers in terms of ease of use and most importantly; juice yield. It does an excellent job on all fruits, harder vegetables and leafy greens and is a doddle to clean.

The Bio Chef is in many ways a direct copy of the premium Hurom Juicers.  It uses many of the same components and same strong GE Ultem front end parts (in fact many of the parts are identical). The Bio Chef is backed up by an excellent 3 year warranty on the motor and parts and is in our view certainly the best value vertical juicer on the market in Ireland and Europe.

An Affordable Cold Press Vertical Juicer

The Bio Chef Juicer is the most affordable and reasonably priced Cold-Press Living Juicer available on the market today! Perfect for those beginning to juice or those who perhaps cannot afford a higher priced juicers. The Bio Chef Juicer delivers true value for money but extracting the most juice possible from fruits and vegetables – no wastage!

Cold Press Juicing Technology

Although the price is significantly cheaper than similar cold-press juicers, the quality and design remain the same. The Bio Chef Juicer utilizes low speed technology, which maintains the living enzymes, nutrients and vitamins in your fruits and vegetables, producing a Living Juice.
Dual Stage Juicing Technology means the fruits and vegetables are crushed in the first stage and then slowly pressed. This two-stage process results in more juice and extremely dry pulp.

The Bio Chef Juicer also comes with two juicing screens for fine and coarse juicing.

The Bio Chef is a Silent Juicer

The Bio Chef Slow Juicer runs at an impressive 40-50dB, compared to the staggering 80-95dB of a typical Centrifugal or standard juicer. This means you can use your Bio Chef at any time of the day or night, anywhere, anytime! With no sharp parts or blades, the whole family can be involved in juicing. By involving children in the process of creating their food and drinks, they are more likely to enjoy drinking it! Cleaning has never been easier, than with the Bio Chef Juicer. Take the hassle out of juicing and spend more time enjoying the benefits! The Bio Chef Juicer simply requires a quick rinse under water, and a quick scrub of the juicing screen and juicing bowl.

Our Verdict

If you have your heart set on a vertical style masticating juicer and have a budget of under €300 then the Bio Chef is certainly the best value vertical machine on the market. The similarity in terms of performance and juice yield with the Hurom is remarkable. One issue we have with the Bio Chef is how securely the front end section locks in with the juicing body. The locking mechanism is not as secure and robust as the Hurom juicers and on one or two occasions (especially when juicing large harder items like carrots) the front end would unlock and clip out. While this can be clipped back in within a couple of seconds it is one unhelpful part of the design. Apart from this it’s hard to fault the Bio Chef!

Great juicer for a good price. The juice is perfect, really extracts all it can from the fruit and easy clean. Highly recommended!

  2. Bio chef v Vitamix

Posted by on 30th Oct 2014

I have both a professional vitamix and recently decided to purchase a masticating juicer as well, as I found that the vitamix, as amazing as it is, still does not make kale and spinach as smooth as a masticating juicer. I would highly recommend the Bio Chef juicer, as it is faster than previous masticating juicers I have used and although there is the usual cleaning (which takes a bit of time) the Bio Chef is a great addition to the kitchen, and ensures I get more veg into my diet.

Waited six month to review this juicer and i can say it has never disappointed me. I use it on average four times a week and it has never let me down or made me wish i had went for another brand. Simple to use and simple to clean.
